There is often a thin line in both the art and music world when it comes to inspiration vs. plagerism. Art can definitely be inspired by many different things in life, and can also be inspired by other artist’s work or style. Though the work of others can often inspire and get an artist out of a slump of creativity, it should never be a crutch, but instead a learning tool.  There are many artists I admire and whose style I sometimes emulate. The difference between the two however is using others work to inspire the creativity already within instead of plagiarizing. I have gained inspiration many times just from music or nature in the way they both evoke emotions and pattern ideas. When you are in a slump as an artist a great place to go is Pinterest. I usually go to Pinterest not to copy other artists but to gain insight on the type of styles they may use and how they executed certain ideas. At the end of the day, there is nothing new under the sun. We will all in a way emulate art that has been created before us but the main objective is to put your own spin on it. We are all unique individuals and that individuality deserves to be shared and cultivated.

With that being said, happy creating everyone, get inspired and have an amazing day.
